Principelle IF Honey-Based Ointment 10g/20g (Exp 31 Jan 2023)

Principelle IF Ointment contains medical-grade dark buckwheat honey, with a blend of trace elements and oxides. It is a natural product with anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-viral properties. When applying this honey dressing onto the wound, it normalizes the wound micro-environment and enhances healing. 

According to the National Honey Board, the acidity of honey ranges from about pH 3.3 - 6.1, with an average of 3.9. The acidity of honey is directly related to the floral sources that created it. Buckwheat honey specific properties of lower pH (3.3) promotes faster wound healing and displayed a powerful bactericidal effect against antibiotic-resistant pathogens. 

Honey dressings make the wounds sterile in less time, enhance healing, and have a better outcome for raised scars and postburn contractures, as compared to other commonly used dressings, e.g. dressing containing silver.

IF Ointment can be used

• For acute or chronic wounds, including contaminated and infected wounds
• For dry or wet wounds. In cases of wet wounds, a secondary absorbing dressing is required.
